============================= The Arrows have Butch Huskey available to help out your power needs for the next 4 years as well as play multiple positions. He hits 15, 24, 12, 22 HR’s the next 4 years. I am looking for draft picks or starting pitching. Thanks, Rick – Indianapolis Arrows =========================== As I recover from the butt-whooping that Greg Maddux, Gary Gaetti, and Steve Ehresman laid on me in the World Series, I will console myself by beginning preparations for 1996. I have begun setting up a draft sheet using the SPB rookie lists and I have to say that the '96 draft looks thin. (For example, I got Mike Cameron with the 26th pick last year and he'd be an easy top-10 this year.) To that end, I have an excess of useful players and would like to offer for your perusal the following players and the picks I would request in return... P Mike Sirotka - Not ready yet, but a full-time starter in '98 and a stud in '99 and 2000. (Early #2) P Brian Bohanon - Very similar to Sirotka, big years are '98 and '00. (Early #2) P Mike Morgan - 83 average-ish SPB starts the next three years. (#2) P Kent Bottenfield - Full-time, effective RP in '96-'97, average swingman in '98, effective starter in '99. (#2) P Jim Corsi - 177 SPB appearances over the next 3 years - WORST era+ is 127! (#2) P Steve Reed - Great RP - at least 57 appearances every year through '04 with era+ ranging from 114 to 193. (#2) OF Geronimo Berroa - Full-time OF for next two years, ops+ of 117 and 120. (#2) 1B Mark Johnson - Plays 6 more years, but value is mostly in '96. 343 AB of 111 ops+ (.274/.361/.458). (#3) P Mark Brandenburg - Full-time RP (60 SPB G) with 152 era+. (#3) P Norm Charlton - Full-time RP (70 G) with 123 era+ (#3) P Curt Leskanic - Lousy in '96-'97 but with tons of appearances, bounces back in '97 with 4 strong years. (#3) P Pat Rapp - 6 years of full-time starts, really only truly effective in '99, but an inning-eater. (#3) OF Mark Smith - Generic in '96, has 193 AB of great offense (125 ops+) in '97. (#4) P John Johnstone - Very good in '98-'99. (70G, 132era+, then 62G, 166era+). (#4) P Gregg Olson - 60G of league-average relief in '96. (#5) 3B Mike Blowers - Good part-time production at corners for '96-'98. (#5) P Scott Aldred - Bonus pitcher with 26 start, 60 game eligibility on '96. (#6) Vin - Red Bulls ================================ Managers, I'd like to kick off the hot stove league with putting ALL Star SS Mark Grudzielanek on the block. He plays for 15 seasons with a career .289 batting Average. I have no room for him on the roster with Derek Jeter at SS. I am looking for a #2 or #3 starting pitcher that has between 5 and 10 years left to play. Let me know if you have any interest. Jim Wheeler Preble Corsairs
