<p class=3DMsoNormal>We&#8217;ve reached the halfway point of the <span
class=3DGramE>season<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>and</spa=
n>
it&#8217;s time to look back at the first three months of the seventh seaso=
n of
SPBV.</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>American League East</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>Maybe this division should be renamed the Q division s=
ince
they&#8217;ve been so dominant the past few years.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Once more Quigley finds themselves=
 on
top with a comfortable 8 game lead over the perennial bridesmaid <st1:Place=
Name
w:st=3D"on">Black</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st=3D"on">Swamp</st1:Pla=
ceType>
and disappointing <st1:place w:st=3D"on"><st1:City w:st=3D"on">Lafayette</s=
t1:City></st1:place>
at 9 back.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>The Q&#8217;s are
missing the lights out pitching that they&#8217;ve enjoyed the past few sea=
sons
but they are scoring on a pace to reach 800 runs despite low homerun <span
class=3DGramE>totals(</span>lots of doubles and good <span class=3DSpellE>o=
nbase</span>
are driving the scoring).<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>The
Salamanders are held back by a league average team hitting and seem to be
riding a decent pitching staff to a winning record.</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><st1:place w:st=3D"on"><st1:City w:st=3D"on">Lafayette=
</st1:City></st1:place>&#8217;s
league worst offense is being dragged down heavily by <span class=3DSpellE>=
Wil</span>
Clark and Mel Hall, two guys expected to put more runs on the board.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>Greg <span class=3DSpellE>Maddux</=
span>
has disappointed everyone on the mound.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nb=
sp;
</span>Scio, <st1:City w:st=3D"on">Carolina</st1:City> and Lake Superior ha=
ve all
hovered around .500 but will play a tougher schedule in the second half goi=
ng
up against a lot of good <st1:place w:st=3D"on"><st1:State w:st=3D"on">AL</=
st1:State></st1:place>
teams.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>However, Chris <span
class=3DGramE>Sabo(</span>Farmers), John <span class=3DSpellE>Kruk</span>(W=
hitecaps)
and Frank Thomas and Barry Larkin(Red Sox) are all providing much joy in th=
eir
cities.</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>American League West</p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>

<p class=3DMsoNormal>This race provides and interesting <span class=3DSpell=
E>matchup</span>
of three distinctive styles of play.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp;
</span>Three games separate Brooklyn, <st1:City w:st=3D"on">Baltimore</st1:=
City>
and <st1:place w:st=3D"on"><st1:City w:st=3D"on">Frankfort</st1:City></st1:=
place>.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>The front running Bridegrooms have=
 the
leagues best pitching staff highlighted by the amazing 16-3 of Tom <span
class=3DSpellE>Glavine</span> and perhaps the leagues best bullpen.<span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>The Redbirds feature a lineup that
thrives on a good mix of <span class=3DSpellE>onbase</span> and speed with =
a dash
of power.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>The Hot Dogs bludge=
on
opponents and have a league leading 130 homers, 49 more than second best <s=
t1:place
w:st=3D"on"><st1:City w:st=3D"on">Chicago</st1:City></st1:place>. <span
style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp;</span>Caveats-Brooklyn has one the
league&#8217;s worst offenses, <st1:City w:st=3D"on">Baltimore</st1:City> h=
as
some weak spots in the rotation and <st1:place w:st=3D"on"><st1:City w:st=
=3D"on">Frankfort</st1:City></st1:place>
has the leagues second worst pitching.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbs=
p;
</span>Like the AL East Pitcairn, Chicago and Pandora have feasted on the
weaker NL to all stay near .500.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </s=
pan>Here
comes the hard part with <st1:place w:st=3D"on"><st1:State w:st=3D"on">AL</=
st1:State></st1:place>
games aplenty.<span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span></p>

scored 3 more runs and given up 7 more than <st1:place w:st=3D"on"><st1:City

has fallen 10 games under .500 and will have to start thinking about the 19=

the Roughriders slipped below .500 in a disappointing 1990 campaign.<span
