All SPB 1975 Managers, As I'm sure all of you are aware, the 1975 season is the first SPB season that used our 50% "use them or loose them rule" that was enacted late last summer in order to have some of the lesser players used more and thereby increase a more full view of lesser players getting playing action, which in turn helps put more realistic statistics on the board.
Here is the complete full list of all players who will be removed from the team rosters because they were not used at least 50% of either their real life at bats or their real life pitching appearances. I will list them with the players name, position, and former team and manager. These players will go right into the rookie draft of 1976, or whenever they're returning, into that seasons rookie draft. Players who do not play in 1976 will have the next year listed that they return to SPB's rookie draft. Here is the entire list:
Bill Plummer, c (Bucaneers, Reoch)
Tom Shopay, of (Bucaneers, Reoch) (1977)
Jim Mason, ss (Hired Guns, Cada)
Ed Goodson, 1b-of (Lumberjacks, Witten)
Chris Arnold, 2b (Lumberjacks, Witten)
Leron Lee, of (Lumberjacks, Witten)
John Scott, of (Magpies, Williams) (1977)
Tim Nordbrook, inf (Mountain Men, Parsons)
Terry Humphrey, c (Generals, Ehresman)
Pat Scanlon, 3b (Generals, Ehresman)
Tony Taylor, 2b (Generals, Ehresman)
John Vukovich, 3b (Generals, Ehresman) (1980)
Enzo Hernandez, ss (Generals, Ehresman)
Dan Meyer, of-1b (Generals, Ehresman)
Jim Tyrone, of (Generals, Ehresman) (1977)
Paul Blair, of (Generals, Ehresman)
Ike Hampton, c (Revenge, Linn) (1977)
Glenn Borgmann, c (Ramblers, Ryan)
Champ Summers, of (Ramblers, Ryan)
Paul Siebert, p (Mud Hens, Applegate)
Bob Beall, 1b (Toros, Turnbull) (1978)
Sandy Alomar, 2b (Toros, Turnbull)
As mentioned above these players will be included with the rookies of their next season with enough at bats.
For your information, here is a final list of other 1975 players who did not play 50%, but never again play enough in real life to renenter our SPB IV league anyway:
Bob Gallagher, of (Lemmings)
Tom Bianco, inf (Lumberjacks)
Gary Gentry, p (Lumberjacks)
Joe Lovitto, of (Magpies)
Tom Kelly, 1b (Mountain Men)
Danny Walton, of (Mountain Men)
Gates Brown, of (Mountain Men)
Dick McAuliffe, inf (Comets)
Eddie Watt, p (Revenge)
Don Hopkins, of (Oaks)
Rich Bladt, of (Mundys)
Mike Poepping, of (Mud Hens)
Jerry Cram, p (Mud Hens)
Jim Holt, of (Toros)
Glenn Beckert, 3b (Toros)
Don Hahn, of (Toros)
Blue Moon Odom, p (Toros)
John Knox, 2b (Scouts)
Art James, of (5-0's)
Every other player not listed on either list did play at least 50%. The only exceptions to the 50% rule this year was given to 3 infielders on the Oakland Oaks that will remain on Greg Stillwagon's roster for 1976 because of the fact that Greg did not take over the team untill the last two months of the season, when it was really to late for him to rectify their usage.
Best,
Gary
