SPB-63 Pre-Season
Power Rankings

I thought I would do something a little different and put together a poll of the teams so you can get a relative idea of where your team stands compared to the other teams in the league.  The formula for this isn't quite as complicated as the College Football BCS poll, but I feel it does give a relative idea of how strong teams are.

The formula takes a balance of pitching and hitting.  For the regular season, four factors will be weighed:

1) Team wins  2) Runs scored-Runs allowed  3) Team Total Average  4)  Pitchers (H/9)-(K/BB)

For the purposes of the pre-season, only items 3 and 4 were used, since no one has played any games yet.  The rankings for each category were averaged for the score used in the ranking.  Let me know if you like this or not. I may make this a regular feature if it is popular enough.

Based on the rankings, the Mavericks are once again the team to beat in 63. And everyone thought they were just a bunch of good pitchers!  The Cubs and Grays each jumped 6 places while the Saxons slid 5 from #3 to #8.   Feedback is appreciated....it will determine whether this becomes a regular feature.
